Occupational Therapy: Occupational Therapy is provided to children with a disability requiring this service. The services provided are purposeful activities to facilitate a child's active participation in self-maintenance, academic and vocational pursuits, play and leisure activities that occur in school environments. Services are provided to promote fine motor and visual motor functioning, visual perceptual skills, and independence in activities of daily living.
Physical Therapy: Physical Therapy is provided to children with a disability requiring this service. The services provided focuses on the child's ability to move as independently as possible in the school environment. Services are provided to enable the student to travel throughout the school environment. The therapist recommend, construct and teach others to increase strength, endurance, sensory processing, adaptive equipment, as well as eye hand, eye foot, and bilateral coordination.
Assistive Technology: The Florence County School District Three Assistive Technology Team provides services to students with physical, mental and learning disabilities. Programs and devices are in place in all schools in the district to improve functional capabilities and help students achieve classroom success.
The Assistive Technology Team assesses, selects and trains students, staff and parents in the use of software and devices.
