
Florence County School District 3 invites parents, stakeholders, and community members to provide input on the use of federal funds prior to the submission of grant applications for the 2026-2027 school year.
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act, provides significant federal support for programs serving students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
South Carolina’s ESSA Consolidated State Plan includes the following program areas:
- Title I, Part A – Improving Basic Programs Operated by Local Educational Agencies
- Title I, Part C – Education of Migratory Children
- Title II, Part A – Supporting Effective Instruction
- Title III, Part A – English Language Acquisition, Language Enhancement, and Academic Achievement
- Title IV, Part A – Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants
- Title IV, Part B – 21st Century Community Learning Centers
- Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
Application deadlines for these federal programs range from June 1 through July 1. The district anticipates receiving funds under Titles I, II, III, IV, and IDEA. In accordance with federal requirements for stakeholder consultation, the district encourages input from families, community members, and private school representatives.
A Request for Public Input Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 23, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Board Room at the district office located at 125 South Blanding Street, Lake City. Information regarding Titles I, II, III, IV, and IDEA will be shared.
