Florence School District 3 has named Dr. Bridget Fleming as principal of Main Street Elementary School for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Fleming currently serves as assistant principal at Main Street Elementary for the 2024–2025 school year. She brings 19 years of experience in education and school leadership, with a background that includes classroom teaching and administrative roles.

“I am incredibly honored to be named principal of Main Street Elementary,” Fleming said. “I look forward to continuing to work alongside our staff, students and families to create an environment where every child can thrive.”

Dr. Fleming added that she is committed to fostering a school culture that promotes care, compassion and high expectations, and believes every child has the potential to succeed with the right support.

Prior to joining Main Street Elementary, Fleming served five years as assistant principal at Lake City Early Childhood Center of the Arts. She also spent four years as a high school administrator in Fayetteville, N.C. Her teaching experience includes first, third and fifth grades in both Fayetteville and Macon, Ga.

Fleming was named Teacher of the Year for the 2016-2017 school year and was a top-three finalist for Assistant Principal of the Year in 2023-2024, 2024-2025 and 2025-2026.

A graduate of East Clarendon High School, Fleming earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Francis Marion University in 2006. She received a Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership from Fayetteville State University in 2010, an Educational Specialist degree from Wingate University in 2023, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus on Superintendency from Wingate University in 2024.

Fleming, one of six siblings and the daughter of Lorell and Penny Fleming, grew up attending Greater St. Stephens Baptist Church and remains deeply connected to the community she serves.
