Due to a recent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Florence School District 3 and the number of students and staff required to quarantine, the district will dismiss students 30 minutes early today, Tuesday, November 24.

In addition, the district is temporarily stopping all face-to-face instruction for the month of December. Beginning November 30 and continuing until January 5, all student instruction will take place virtually.

Schools will provide printed assignment packets or Google assignments depending on the grade. Parents with questions should contact their children’s principals.

By using virtual instruction only, the district hopes to slow the spread of COVID-19 and once again give parents the option of face-to-face or virtual instruction when students return from winter break on January 5. Staff return from winter break on January 4.

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is asking parents to contact their school with any positive COVID cases during this virtual time. The school staff who is contacted will need to ask for the following information: place of testing, date positive as well as the address, date of birth, and guardian's and phone number.
