Florence County School District 3 is seeking public input on the use of federal education funds in advance of submitting its consolidated grant applications for the 2026-2027 school year.

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), authorizes federal programs that support the academic achievement of students from kindergarten through grade 12.

South Carolina’s ESSA Consolidated State Plan includes the following federal program areas:

  • Title I, Part A – Improving Basic Programs Operated by Local Educational Agencies
  • Title II, Part A – Supporting Effective Instruction
  • Title III, Part A, Subpart 1 – English Language Acquisition and Language Enhancement
  • Title IV, Part A – Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants
  • Title IV, Part B – 21st Century Community Learning Centers
  • Title V, Part B, Subpart 2 – Rural and Low-Income School Program
  • Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) – Special Education Services

Grant applications for these programs are due to the South Carolina Department of Education between June 1 and July 1.

Florence County School District 3 anticipates receiving allocations under Titles I, II, III, IV, V, and IDEA for the 2026–2027 school year. In accordance with federal requirements for stakeholder engagement and meaningful consultation, the district invites input from parents, educators, staff, and community members regarding the planning and use of these funds to support student achievement and program effectiveness.
