Florence School District 3 has announced Steven Barr as the new principal of Lake City Early Childhood Center for the 2025-2026 school year.
“I am deeply honored to be appointed to Lake City Early Childhood Center,” Mr. Barr said. “Early childhood education lays the foundation for lifelong learning and success, and I am committed to supporting our educators, engaging families, and fostering a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment where every child can thrive.”
Mr. Barr brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served most recently as principal of J. Paul Truluck Creative Arts and Science Magnet School during the 2024-2025 school year.
He is a veteran educator with 16 years of experience in education, including 11 years as a mathematics teacher. His leadership background also includes serving as a middle school assistant principal and as an assistant principal at Lake City High School for two years.
Mr. Barr holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Coastal Carolina University. He also earned a Specialist Degree in Administration from Arkansas State University.
