Dukes Selected as JPTMS Principal

Florence School District 3 is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Gregory Dukes as the new principal of J. Paul Truluck Creative Arts and Science Magnet School for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Dr. Dukes brings more than 14 years of educational experience to his new role. Most recently, he served as the Charter School Program Manager at the South Carolina Department of Education. In this position, he provided technical assistance and guided the development of high-quality programs for charter school developers, faculty and staff, authorizers, and board members across the state.

Prior to his work at the state level, Dr. Dukes spent six years as an assistant principal at both South Florence High School and Williams Middle School in Florence 1 Schools. He also served as a social studies teacher for five years at South Florence High.

Dr. Dukes holds a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Coastal Carolina University, a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Coastal Carolina University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Coastal Carolina.

Interim Superintendent Kasey Feagin expressed confidence in Dr. Dukes' leadership and vision for the future of J. Paul Truluck Creative Arts and Science Magnet School. “Dr. Dukes is a passionate educator with a deep commitment to academic excellence and student success,” said Mrs. Feagin. “His strong background in both classroom instruction and school administration, coupled with his experience at the state level, make him uniquely qualified to lead Truluck into a new era of innovation and achievement. We are excited to welcome him to the Florence 3 family.”
