Dr. Ronald E. McNair School of Digital Communications and Leadership hosted a Career Lab showcase in partnership with Paxton/Patterson on Thursday, November 14.
Students at DREM have been studying various career clusters to help them discover their future career paths. The career studies are organized into modules that last approximately 10 days. These modules include videos, readings, interactive elements and hands-on learning assignments. Career clusters covered include nursing, pharmacology, hospitality, culinary arts, child care, home maintenance and more.
This innovative program gives students a taste of different careers, helping them gain clarity about their strengths and interests. Additionally, these modules enhance the core reading, mathematics, and science skills that students need to fully understand their career concepts.
Over 40 guests from across the state attended the showcase, where students shared insights about their learning experiences and career exploration journeys. Many students expressed interest in pursuing careers within their current clusters and excitement about moving on to the next career cluster. Overall, this program aligns with our district's goal of ensuring that all students are prepared for college and careers.
