Florence School District 3 has named Amanda Dorris as the district’s new director of student services for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Ms. Dorris brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served in Williamsburg County School District as director of testing and accountability and director of elementary/middle education. Her previous roles also include instructional coach, Title I coordinator, testing coordinator, and various school-level leadership positions.

Before entering district-level leadership, Ms. Dorris taught fifth grade math, science and health, as well as STEM classes for students in grades 3 through 6. She was honored as First Year Teacher of the Year at both Greeleyville Elementary School and for Williamsburg County School District.

Ms. Dorris holds an Education Specialist degree in educational leadership from Arkansas State University, a master’s degree in instructional media and technology from Wilkes University and a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Bloomsburg University.
