FSD3 is partnering with energy and efficiency expert, Schneider Electric on a district-wide modernization project that addresses critical infrastructure and technology needs. Through multiple phases of work, this initiative underscores FSD3’s commitment to creating safe, efficient, and comfortable learning environments for students and staff. Together, we are driving progress toward a sustainable, future-ready district.
This project, branded as FSD3.0, began in the summer of 2024 with the completion of phase 1 at Lake City Early Childhood Center of the Arts. During this initial phase, the district implemented a series of targeted upgrades designed to enhance efficiency, comfort, and safety throughout the facility. Work continues with a second phase in Fall 2025 to expand updates to all district facilities outlined below.
These improvements are funded through a strategic blend of resources, including the district’s remaining ESSER funds, security grants, and equipment lease options. Additional upgrades are being delivered through a capital recovery and reinvestment model, which allows the district to offset costs over time using energy savings generated by the project. This approach ensures that FSD3 can modernize facilities responsibly and sustainably, maximizing every dollar and minimizing the impact on the district’s budget while continuing to prioritize student learning.
