Florence School District Three

Updated eLearning Days Plan

2025-2026

Florence County School District Three is designated as an eLearning District. Districts that meet the criteria for an eLearning District, as determined by the Department of Education, may use up to five eLearning days to allow for the make-up of short-term disruptions to in-person teaching and learning.

Instructional Requirements

  • Elementary (K–8): 5.5 hours of engagement;
  • High School (9–12): 6 hours minimum, including at least 200 minutes of direct instruction (via video, readings, etc.)
  • Lessons provided should require a minimum of 200 minutes of instruction (video, reading, and listening); the remainder of the time is for student engagement, studying and work completion, etc. These times are cumulative across subjects.
  • Teachers will be accessible during the school day via email, virtual office hours, or otherwise, with flexibility for some evening access
  • Students have 3 school days upon return to complete assignments, after which non-completion results in an absence

Expectations

Assignments

3K/4K - Students will receive a packet quarterly for eLearning that should stay in their take-home folder.

Online Presence

When interacting online, students will:

  • be fully engaged
  • show respect toward the teacher and peers
  • participate verbally and/or digitally based on directions provided by the teacher

Attendance

  • Students have 3 school days upon return to complete assignments, after which non-completion results in an absence.
  • Those students who do not complete their eLearning assignment(s) by the end of the 3rd day back at school will be marked absent.
  • Learning in the classroom will continue to progress after the eLearning day(s). Therefore, it is important that students complete the work as soon as possible.

    • Plug it into the charger and wait a few minutes before trying again.
    • Still not working? Contact the school’s tech support team.

    • Make sure your work is saved in the right format (PDF, DOC, etc.).
    • Try a different browser if the upload won’t work.
    • Take a picture of your work and email it to your teacher as a backup.
