Florence School District 3 teachers were recognized with bonus checks for outstanding student achievement.
Interim Superintendent Kasey Feagin and Chief Academic Officer Mary Howard presented awards to K–2 teachers whose classes averaged 75% or higher on last spring’s Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) ELA or math assessments. Teachers in grades 3–8 also received checks if their class averages on the SC Ready assessment exceeded the state average. Teachers in grades 9-12 earned bonuses for exceeding the state average on end-of-course exams.
Checks were presented to 22 teachers throughout the district.
Teachers receiving the bonuses were:
- J.C. Lynch Elementary – Evelyn Amos, Kristin Burgess, Elizabeth Cox, Abbie Creech, Anna Macy Poston, Rachel Steele and Krystal Udeochu.
- Lake City Early Childhood Center - Shondricka Battiste, Madison Flores Cantey and Gwen Graham.
- Scranton Elementary STEAM Academy - Jacqueline Drost, Debbie McAllister, Sherry Morris, Britney Nobles, Alyson Poston, Sharon Powell and Diana Welch;
- J. Paul Truluck Creative Arts and Science Magnet School - Andrea Atkinson, Miranda McElveen, Ruby Saptain and Allison Wall; and
- Lake City High School - Geneve Barnes Sinclair.
