Board Approves 2023-2024 School Calendar

The Florence School District 3 Board of Trustees approved the 2023-2024 school calendar during its regular monthly meeting Thursday.
The calendar is similar to the 2022-2023 calendar. Teachers return from summer break on July 24 and the first day for students is August 1.
The calendar includes the Thanksgiving break November 20-24, winter break December 18-January 4 and spring break April 1-5. Three eLearning Days are scheduled for October 4 and February 12-13 if needed to make up instructional days lost due to inclement weather.
Also included are two three-day breaks, called intercession periods, October 4-6 and February 14-16. During intercession periods, students can choose to participate in enrichment opportunities such as performance camps, interest camps, showcases and performances, in addition to opportunities currently offered by the district.
The last day of school is May 24.
