For the second consecutive school year, the Lake City High School Athletic Department was recognized by the South Carolina High School League with an Award of Excellence for "exemplary display of sportsmanship, ethics, and integrity."
As one of only eight high schools in the AAA classification to be honored, Lake City High School was chosen based on criteria including community service, reports from opponents as well as overall fan, player and coach conduct. Schools with more than one player ejection or any coach ejection are not considered for the award.
“You win with people,” said LCH athletic director Matt Apicella. “Great people do great things and that is what we are striving to produce at Lake City High School. Our student-athletes and coaches recognize that yesterday's goals are today's expectations. We are extremely proud to be recognized by the SCHSL for the second consecutive year,” he said.
