The South Carolina High School League has awarded the Lake City High School Athletic Department the Palmetto Gold distinction for exceptional participation in the Palmetto Pride initiative that focused on overall sportsmanship and community service projects during October.
Lake City was noted for outstanding sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches, and fans while also covering the community service aspect of the initiative with multiple projects including a citywide cleanup that also featured several dozen LCHS alumni.
"Our student-athletes continue to impress me with their consistent efforts in our community," said LCH Principal Ned Blake. "These student-athletes always go above and beyond what is asked of them and Lake City High School is proud to continue to raise the bar in the entire Pee Dee area."
