FSD3 Provides Student Assignment Packets

Posted on 03/18/2020

Florence School District 3 is continuing to provide instruction to students.

The district began distributing At-Home Academic Standards packets on Tuesday, March 17. The packets contain assignments for each grade level for continued standards-based academic that students can complete while at home. The assignments are aligned to the South Carolina Academic Standards for all core content areas (English/language arts, math, science and social studies) as well as current units students have been studying in their classes. Students also are expected to complete 20 minutes of reading each day.

“It is so important to keep our students academically focused,” said Allana Prosser, FSD3 Chief Academic Officer. “Our FSD3 team has pulled together to ensure our students have what they need to do just that. We are hopeful that our students stay well and confident that they will get their work done.”

Once school resumes, students will turn in their assignments, which will be used as supplemental grades. Students will also receive academic feedback from their teachers.

During the school closure, teachers will contact their students to provide academic assistance, to monitor student progress and to provide encouragement to students.
