Lake City High School senior Emerald Sabrina McKnight signed a commitment to cheer for Coker College in a signing ceremony Friday.
McKnight, the daughter of Ronald and Teresa McKnight, will be attending the Hartsville campus on a full-academic scholarship and will receive additional funds for her participation on the cheer leading squad.
“I chose to become a Coker Cobra after visiting campus and immediately knowing that was where I wanted to be,” said McKnight. “Being selected to be a part of the cheer leading team just makes this an even better situation and I am excited to begin my Coker career.”
Emerald was a four-year member of the Lake City cheer program and a two-year captain. She maintained a 4.27 GPA and completed over 100 hours of community service during her career at Lake City.
“Emerald McKnight is mature beyond her years and has a deep passion for Lake City High School that was obvious in her cheering,” stated LCHS cheer leading coach Tonia Wilson. “She will excel at Coker College and be a tremendous asset to their program.”
