Posted on 11/22/2019

Lake City High School sponsored a Thanksgiving luncheon for students, family, staff and community members Tuesday, November 19.

Each year, the program seeks to bring families of LCHS students together to celebrate the holiday and feature student skills and talents.

The students who participated decorated the event location, performed a skit about the history of Thanksgiving and had student work on display related to the history of Thanksgiving.  The program was organized by Wanda Woodberry-Murphy, Alecea Cartwright, Lenora Caldwell and Dr. Mary Amanfu.

Together with business partners Lake City Walmart, Lake City IGA, Lake City State Farm (Scotty Campbell), The Railway Restaurant and the Knights of Columbus Hope Foundation, students and their families who attended the program were given a frozen turkey for them to prepare for Thanksgiving. Two participants also were gifted with a gift card compliments of The Railway Restaurant.
