LCH Alumni Enjoy Breakfast

Lake City High School alumni returned to their alma mater Friday morning to kick off the Homecoming weekend.

The school hosted a breakfast of shrimp and grits, quiche and biscuits before giving alumni an overview of current programs and initiatives at the school.

The alumni day at the school is part of the weekend Homecoming celebration organized by the Lake City High School Alumni Association. The association, along with the booster club, organized a tailgating event before Friday night’s football game.

Following the breakfasts, alumni gathered in front of the Career and Technical Education building for a ribbon cutting ceremony for an alumni wall.

The alumni wall is the idea of Joyce Gamble-Brown as a fundraiser, and the plan for the wall was designed by retired masonry instructor Calvin Cade.

Each brick costs $40 with up to three lines of text embossed. Proceeds from the sale of bricks will be used for scholarships and other improvements to the LCHS CATE department.

Alumni can choose to memorialize a class member or just have their names and graduating class years embossed.

The wall will be constructed by LCHS masonry instructor Anthony Wilson and LCHS masonry students with assistance from Mr. Cade.

To order a brick or for more information, contact Joyce Gamble-Brown at 843-374-5119 ext. 2937 or email [email protected].
