FSD3 Celebrates School Counseling Week

Florence School District 3 celebrated National School Counseling Week February 3-7. The observance is sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).

The purpose of the week is to focus public attention on the unique contribution of professional school counselors and career specialists within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors and career specialists do.

National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors and career specialists can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.

The special week honoring school counselors and career specialists provides recognition for school counselors and career specialists who “implement comprehensive school counseling programs, a vital part of the educational process for all students as they meet the challenges of the 21st century.”

FSD3 counselors have re-branded themselves as Professional School Counselors and Career Specialists and are in the process of developing a sold districtwide data driven comprehensive plan. What does that mean?
