Ron Jones, director of the State Department of Education’s Office of Health and Nutrition, conducted a session titled “The 21 Rules of Food.” Small-group sessions on topics such as "Kitchen & Food Production," "Safe Food Handling, and “Professional Standards” were conducted by Rebecca Kenner of the SDE’s Office of Health and Nutrition; Janice Oates, CEO and owner of Palmetto Resource Group, LLC and FCSD3’s Food Service Department staff.

The objective of the training was to provide FCSD3 food service staff and substitutes with the fundamental skills to effectively meet the challenges of preparing nutritious and healthy meals each school day.
