Florence County School District Three is seeking public input on the use of federal funds before submitting federal grant applications for the 2019-2020 school year under the Every Student Succeeds Act, the latest reauthorization of the 1965 Elementary and Secondary Education Act approved by the U. S. Congress in December of 2015 and which replaces the No Child Left Behind Act. Through this law, substantial federal support is provided for programs to serve students in Kindergarten through 12th grades.

The banquet honors the top 10 seniors and the top five students in the freshman, sophomore and junior classes for their academic achievements. The Teaching Fellowship, awarded by the Board of Directors of the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, & Advancement (CERRA), provides recipients with advanced enrichment programs, professional development opportunities throughout the state and Pee Dee area, involvement with South Carolina communities and businesses, and up to $6,000 annual fellowship funds for four years while completing a degree leading to teacher certification.

The scholarship is valued at more than $260,000.
