We are always looking for qualified substitutes to teach our children when our full-time teachers and staff have to be away from the classroom. Our District welcomes substitute teachers and substitutes in our 4K program and food service. We encourage you to apply!

APPLICATION

Complete a Florence School District Three Substitute Application. Three references must be completed electronically and received for an application to be considered complete. Complete all fields of the application. Incomplete applications may not be considered for review.

BACKGROUND CHECKS

A routine SLED background check and National Sex Offender Registry will be conducted by our office.

NOTIFICATION

You will be notified if you meet the qualifications to substitute in Florence School District Three. You will also be notified of the date and time of the mandatory Substitute training class. Failure to attend this mandatory training class will result in your ineligibility to substitute.

ATTEND SUBSTITUTE TRAINING CLASS

The following documents must be provided before the mandatory Substitute training class:

  • Documentation of a clear Tuberculin (TB) skin test taken within the last 12 months. You must present this document to attend the training class.
  • Copy of your Social Security card for Benefits and payroll purposes and copy of Driver's License or State Id card.
  • Copy of educator certification or proof of four year degree (if applicable).

CURRENT SUBSTITUTES

  • Current substitutes are required to attend an annual update to remain on the active sub list.
  • Substitutes not attending the update will be inactivated for the current year.
  • Once inactivated, substitutes must re-apply.

Please Note:

Serving as a substitute in Florence School District Three is a privilege and not a right. The administration reserves the right to add and remove any substitute’s name from the District’s substitute list as it deems in the interest of the students and the District. Substitutes work on an as needed basis to meet the needs of the District.
