Insurance Benefits Guide reminder

PEBA will publish the 2017 Insurance Benefits Guide to the PEBA website in mid-December. As indicated in the 2016 Benefits Advantage newsletter subscribers received in September, we want to remind you that this year's guide will not be printed and distributed to active insurance subscribers.

The complete 2017 Insurance Benefits Guide will be available for viewing, searching, downloading and printing in mid-December by going to www.peba.sc.gov and clicking on the Insurance Benefits Guide icon below the online access button on the right side of the home page.

If you still have questions about your benefits after reviewing your guide, contact PEBA at http://www.peba.sc.gov/contactus.html, 803.737.6800 or 888.260.9430.

Open Enrollment

October 1-31, 2016. Any coverage changes that you make will take effect January 1, 2017. You do not need to do anything if you are satisfied with your current coverage; your coverage will continue for 2017. Active employees need to enroll or re-enroll in the MoneyPlus medical spending or dependent care spending accounts during October enrollment to participate in 2017.

flu vaccine

This year, the seasonal flu vaccine will be available at no cost to primary State Health Plan members.

  • When a member gets the flu vaccine from a participating network health care provider, the cost of the vaccine and administration fee will be covered at 100 percent.
  • PEBA will not cover the cost associated with the office visit, however.
  • Primary members may also get the vaccine from a participating network pharmacy for a $0 copayment.

This is a great deal for our members, and we hope you'll help us promote it using our flu campaign toolkit. It includes:

  • A poster;
  • A flier;
  • A customizable email you can send to your employees
  • Digital banners;
  • A social media message;
  • A newsletter article; and
  • A PowerPoint slide.

Download these materials by visiting www.PEBAHealthHub.com. There, you'll also find other materials you can use throughout the year to improve the health of your employees.
